At a time when knowledge continues to increase faster than our ability to absorb and update curriculum, it has become increasingly important for educators to teach, not just who, what, when, where, and why, but also how - how to learn. Students must be equipped with the ability to seek out and explore knowledge; to make well-grounded judgments about the quality of information available; to plan projects and to practice time management; to work as a team, cooperating to achieve a common goal. These are the skills that will enable students to continue lifelong learning - and to work in a world of ever-expanding knowledge and ever-changing technology.

The VR Development Lab gives students the tools they need to learn how to learn, how to plan, and how to work in a group. In terms of the U.S. Department of Education's Mission Statement: it addresses "technology as a critical skill in preparing students for the future."
