VRDL - A Curriculum Authoring Toolset

The Virtual Reality Development Lab started out as a curriculum creation device for a government grant awarded to answer the question: Does VR enhance learning and retention?

The answer is a resounding YES!

The very same tools used to author the curriculum for this government research grant are available in the VRDL for educators to create their own curriculum and VR based educational content. These tools have been proven effective as both a powerful learning aid and a valuable curriculum authoring system.

Schools working with the VRDL are quickly realizing the potential for creating educational content. They are getting all departments involved in the development of VR based curriculum.

For example, The drama department may act out a particular moment of historical significance, recorded by the audio/video department and directed by the history department. A new form of educational content is born and can be expanded upon every year or semester.

Now, ask yourself and your students which method of learning history would generate a sincere desire to learn, overall excitement, increased retention and comprehension while boosting test scores?

This type of standards-based curriculum and content can easily be implemented it into the current curriculum structure for the entire district and can even be shared with other districts.

Three educational module instructor guides are included with the VRDL and can be examined here. Feel free to download the Instructor guides for an insight into a how curricullum can be created in an incredibly interesting manner with the VRDL.

You may also learn more about the Modules here.
